Irish Council of Churches
The Irish Council of Churches (ICC) (founded 1922, reorganised under its present name 1966) is an ecumenical Christian body.〔''The Encyclopedia of Christianity''; ed. Erwin Fahlbusch, Geoffrey William Bromiley, 1999; Vol. 2, p. 741: "This body was superseded in 1966 by the Irish Council of Churches (— > National Council of Churches), which is serviced by a full-time ... The Irish Council of Churches reflects the concerns of similar councils throughout the world."〕 It is a sister organisation of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.〔''The Church of England Yearbook 1997''; p. 113 National Assembly of the Church of England: "... which are themselves grouped together in Churches Together in England, CYTUN (Churches Together in Wales), ACTS (Action of Churches Together in Scotland) and Irish ecumenical bodies, particularly the Irish Council of Churches."〕
